In the beginning, the camp opened with ten celebrity treasure hunters who stormed the Treasure Island with their varied expectations and were driven by challenges, courage, and above all the determination to come out tops after the contest.

After weeks of battles, schemes and varying plots at the first Gulder Ultimate Search Celebrity Showdown camp, Emeka Ike, popular Nollywood act, finally emerged winner of the star-struck two-month event, which grand finale held at La’campagne Tropicana Resort - he thus left Treasure Island with a N7.5M cash prize.

Emeka emerged winner after beating finalists Daddy Showkey and Darey Art-Alade to clinch the prized treasure. Other contestants who did not make it to the finale were Princess, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Weird Mc, Chioma Chukwuka, Funke Akindele, Muma Gee and Obesere.

Truth to tell, Emeka’s win was a combination of sheer determination, guts and unparalleled resolution, laced with an element of good luck. This was underscored by the move of the two traditional arch rivals - Darey and Ike - who were on the same spot where the treasure was, after Ike joined Darey who had earlier been digging the spot.

Ike then brought out the treasure; screaming and jubilating… perhaps, the game was a case of the ‘last shall be the first,’ as Emeka who was the last to bring down his shovel with a self-constructed ladder, eventually found the hidden treasure.
