The baby of the house, Rita Uloko, has been appointed camp leader of the ten new ‘Heroes of the Order’ in Awgu Hills. Brain Mokelu emerged custodian of the Totem, symbol of the ultimate searchers, in the titanic hunt for the Lost Chronicle. He is to guard the Totem, with all his might and strength and on no account must it get missing. “He must not hide it any where or tie it to himself in the bid to protect it”. So says the Presenter, Bob-Manuel Udokwu during last nights’ episode of the must watch Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS V) reality TV show, now running on popular national and cable television networks, everyday.

The appointments were made when both contestants were discovered to be occupying the bottom of the score board. Rita has so far recorded just two points while Brian has only four. Interestingly, two Heroines, whose names begin with letter “A”; Abigail and Abiola, are on the lead with nine points each. Fred is next with eight points, Phyna has seven, Linda has five, while Mike, JJ, and Adamu drew level at six points. The Heroes are under instructions to accord maximum respect to the Totem.

Earlier on the show, there was a recap of the previous day’s episode, followed by the scene created by Rita. She cried profusely, rolling out hot tears down her cheeks. But Brain put it to her that she was home sick: “She has two good reasons to stop crying - I will volunteer to stay awake and watch over these things (the treasure chest and the helmet) they were asked to look after. He further claimed that Rita has been complaining seriously about her leg as the second reason.

That night, they started rehearsals of their songs they were to deliver the following day. They obviously stayed awake to watch over the treasures and Totem. The following morning, Phyna was on with her cooking. She claimed that she is the mother of the camp: “I think I am their mother, I have another family here. I am older than them and I need to take care of them.” she said.  The Heroes seem little bothered about the shanty nature of their shelter until Brain picked up the initiative and others filed in. A big quarrel later ensued between Rita and JJ. Then, the presenter storms in with some hints on fresh clues.

The riddle goes thus: “I am the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space. The beginning of every end and the end of every place.” They worked it out to be ‘E’,  meaning END. “I wonder if that would mean the end for some of them” the presenter wonders aloud.

The physical task was an enjoyable one. Both groups are to go one after the other to match like fruit-items, covered with a calabash on top of a wood stump together. Team “B” led this time around and got a basket filled with variety of fruits to take back to camp. They instead chose to forgo the basket of fruits in sympathy with their co-contestants in group “A” who were denied theirs for scoring low- keeping the letter ‘O’.

For showing undue sympathy, the winning team “B” was later penalized to forfeit their dinner when the day’s activities were put under review at the place of the Talking Drum.

The excitements continue only on Gulder Ultimate Search five. Don’t go away.
