The task:
Each of the contestants was allowed two rounds to shot two bow and arrow from a firing range to hit at fruit items ranging from oranges, paw-paw, water melon, etc; hanging in a row, near a cave. Mike led the way this time around and missed his targets all through. Frank equally lost out completely before a more focused Linda strikes and hit a paw-paw in her first round. Phyna picked up the initiative and also hit a water-melon in her second round. She earlier brushed the orange with her hot arrow.
The contestants later assembled on the other side of the hill for the major task of the day following information from the presenter that what they were looking for was within that vicinity. They were instructed to search for the item which was in three parts from different trees and whatever they found, they should take to camp, study it and come up with the answer at the place of the Talking Drum later that day.
They did as instructed and got the three items in form of a riddle. They read: (1) What is black when you get it. (2) Red when you use it? (3) And white when you are all through with it.
Back to Camp:
It was like ‘Mannas descended from heavens when they got to camp. The hungry contestants met various food items including onions and milk which they had never come across since they have been in the jungle in the past 20 days. They jubilated but soon settled down to the main task of solving the riddles. Linda observed that the male contestants, this year were not too strong. “We have to really beat them” she remarked.
Place of the talking Drum :
Bob wondered why the contestants refused to pick the food items they got during the day’s exercise. Linda gave an explanation saying “because it was fruit items. It makes us hungry the more when we eat them. If it were to be garri or something else, we would have taken them”. More fruits were however given to them to “sharpen their appetite”.
The correct answer to the riddle was give as COAL. Frank and Phyna got it right. Phyna even came with a small piece of cool to show. The answer was later related to Enugu state as the cool city. A clearer detail of the map and other treasures they have recovered so far from Awgu hills was shown. It was evident that the searchers have made tremendous progress.
Finally the case of cheating, made the previous day, was dismissed for want of sufficient evidence. “It is clear that some attempts were made by both teams to see what the others were doing during the task you were supposed to set the logs on the ground. Because of insufficient evidence and the fact that those attempts were made before any successful conclusion of the task, the council of elders have decided to place each one of you on probation without punishment and with a provision that any further act of that nature will attract immediate eviction. He further announce that the day’s sitting was the last at the Place of the Talking Drum for the search this year.
