The intriguing brain and nerves wrecking exercise in the last and final search for the lost treasure in past editions of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS1-1V) as well as the rigorous screening and selection exercise conducted to pick the finalists for this year’s edition were highlighted last night on popular television and cable networks across the country and beyond.

Again, star actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu, came with the mission statement on the “Lost Chronicle”, theme for this year’s edition of the GUS, which he is billed to also present.

The episode then rolled into the very first edition of the GUS, featuring the ways and manners Julian regrettably turn his advantage into defeat in arriving early enough at the scene of the final search for the lost treasure and losing out to Ezeugo for lack of concentration. Ezeugo was least expected to win the 2004 edition at the Snake Island, Lagos.

The sportlight was shifted to the Regional selections of this year’s edition of the GUS which featured wild but very determined and highly exciting moves by applicants to at least grab a ticket to contest the GUS. Some ran the race of their lives to qualify for the next round of the selection exercise. Some scrambled for the balls while some others did everything within their power to prove that they were good swimmers only to be rescued to safety with the aid of life guards, moments after jumping into the water. “E no easy to enter for Gulder Ultimate Search” said one of the young applicant at the Lagos Regional Selection.

Highlights of GUS 2 featured the end of the road for Ifeoma in the 2005 edition as the golden gate slammed her out from the final search. The more focused Lucas Chimbaliss, lifted the crown as the second Ultimate Man of GUS. The camaraderie, displayed by Martins even in defeat, however remained a strong point of the edition of GUS at Obudu Hills.

The preview of the final contest of GUS 3, in Benin the Edo state capital actually brought to the fore the saying that the battle is not always for the swift. Tope, indeed arrived first at the scene for the lost treasure-an Hourglass. But it was Hector who came much later to fish it out from the water and smiled home with N5 million and an SUV.

In the GUS IV, last year at the rocky Shere Hills, it was an almost head to head run for the lost treasure between Dozie and Dominic. The eagle eyes of Dominic obviously spotted the unusual object that led him to recover the lost treasure deep inside the bowel of  Shere Hills lake.
The golden age for one of the fourty short listed candidates of this years competition to become instant millionaire and proud owner of brand new SUV was further highlighted as they arrive the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos from different parts of the country and there after to the Sea School in Apapa where they were subjected to various training exercises including taking a leap from a top a ship into the deep-blue sea.

The final selection exercise is yet to come. Just stay hooked to-night.
