Eviction hemlock continues to ravage Palm-Boo Camp even after its relocation to a new site. The latest victims, Elvis and Oseyi were paired up in a dire game that consumed them. Their story comes later as the show kicks off with the recap of actions that brought back memories of food troubles at Palm-Boo Camp. Days running into weeks of the epic Hunt for the Horn of Valour inside the deep jungle of Omodo forest in the ongoing Gulder Ultimate Search VI; food remains the most discussed issue.

We still have the six remaining contestants in the ongoing Gulder Ultimate Search VI as day breaks in the new Palm-Boo Camp inside Omodo forest in Aagba, Osun State.

As directed, Melvin led the Hunters to work out with some exercises. After, Chisom kicked off the discourse on food matters. She suggested to her fellow contestants to save the food that morning, since they are running out of stock and do not know when the next supply would come.
“Food, food, food. If someone eats, someone will be strong to do whatever you want to do. I get scared of food finishing, or the last food being in the house because.  If you eat this one today, what will you eat tomorrow because you don’t know how tomorrow’s task would be?”
Others agreed to keep the food. In anyway, Oseyi’s observation says it all. “The firewood is wet,” cooking the food would be difficult and tasking. Again, Chisom attempts to incite her fellow Hunters to action over food. “When we go the Place of the Talking Drum today, make we talk say we no get food again, because when we eat this one, we no know when another go come?”
Food simply refused to vacate its sit even when they are asked to express what they miss most in the jungle. Uche says “Food is thing I miss most about civilization. Men, I can’t wait to leave this place and get some really nice, good food.”
Oseyi, however misses “civilization itself – comfort, food, dryness, I say food, and food!”
Elvis admits he misses “my Bible and my parents most, then my sisters.”

Chisom misses her twin brother the most. “My parents too are just there, I miss them, but I miss my twin brother… But in the jungle now, I think I miss food most.

Vivien feel isolated from civilization. “From my phone ringing and knowing things that are happening around me, I feel very, very isolated. You cannot see anybody; you cannot talk to anybody; just you and your mates in a lonely jungle. Men… that’s mad.”

Further, Uche says “I feel totally secluded away from the world. I have never had this kind of feeling in my life, I feel like I’m somewhere else; I feel like an animal right now. I know how an animal feels right now. I’m feeling… I miss my family. Yea I do. I wonder, what is actually going on in the rest of the world. I just feel like asking somebody, but anywhere I turn, I saw somebody who is also in the jungle with me. So, I just have to keep the thoughts to myself.”
Oseyi philosophizes again. “I have been in the jungle for a long time and I’m still in the jungle. I am isolated. I am cut off… there is no electricity, no cell phone, no duvet, one blanket. Of course I’m cut off. I wonder what civilization is right now. I’m afraid when I see an electric bulb I’ll scream… It’ll be like a shock when I go back to civilization. I feel isolated.”

The debate on what they miss was interrupted by Chisom who introduced another subject bothering on food again. She complained that the guys are not helping the girls when its time to cook. She reasoned that their male counterparts should make fire for the cooking at least.
Elvis was the first to counter. “Abeg make we hear something!” He thinks it’s the normal thing for the female Hunters to do the cooking. After all, “we get the bamboo, the wood” with which the fire is made and the food get cooked. “Lets it just like a husband and wife thing. We give a little assistance when it’s necessary; but in nthe kitchen, it should be a woman affair.”

Chisom argues her case further, “Women empowerment my foot! Why can’t you say, ‘Chisom you have been cooking, let me cook too? I never taste una cooking sef. Make una cook one day, make we know,” she challenged the boys further.
Melvin thinks it’s logical for the girls to cook. “It’s the women that do this thing more. So it’s not as if we are telling them to do it as our slaves. It’s just something they have to do. You can’t have a man and a woman in the same place and you expect the man to be cooking for you. NO! I mean, it’s just logical that they cook.”

By now, Elvis could hardly belly his hunger and, by extension, his anger. “Will you girls just get down and cook this food!” he barked in annoyance.
Still, Chisom presses home her argument, accusing Elvis of talking down on them about making the fire. Elvis made attempts to beg her, Melvin and Uche rebuked him: “Why you dey beg her? You wan make her head dey swell?”
A strange discovery would halt the debate abruptly. Uche found a paper inside his boots. It was the clue for the day’s task. It reads: “Water is not always in abundance as it is now!” They couldn’t decipher what the clue means. Uche says: “I really don’t know what we’re going to expect; I was feeling for a second that there was going to be a whole lot of water; but looking at the message again, it seems as if there’s not going to be water. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed and expecting anything that is in it.”

Chisom admits habouring fears. “As it now, I’ve not been scared since we started this Ultimate Search. Today is a different day, I’m actually very scared. I don’t know what it is going to be. I just know it will be very, very tough.”
Other expresses similar opinion. However, Vivien believes “I don’t think this is going to be my last task in the Ultimate Search, because I’m not done with Ultimate Search yet.”

At the task, Anchorman, Bob Manuel wasted no time in explaining the day’s task. “Throughout this Search, water has always played a role. When the hunters travel, they always have to carry water around with them; may be because of the large expanse of forest that they have to traverse in search of game, it may also be because there is no water at all, or that the area has bad water. Whichever case it may be, they must guard their water so jealously as if they are guarding gold.

“In spite of that, they still have to meet challenges, obstacles, and crossings they have to make; which sometimes may inadvertently lead to spilling the water. So, the first trick a new hunter learns is to protect his water. This is what you are going to do today!
“The essence of this task is to teach you trust and communication; as well as testing your skills, your strength, endurance and perseverance in the face of challenges. So, you have a lot to learn as you face these obstacles!”

They were paired up for the task. Chisom paired with Melvin, Vivien and Uche and Oseyi paired with Elvis.
The task began, Oseyi and Elvis took the lead early ahead of others. Soon, Uche and Vivien took over with Oseyi and Elvis trailing. Calculative Chisom and Melvin were the first to get their balls out of the bamboo. They won the task. Uche shouted on Vivien repeated for spilling the water in her calabashes as they race to catch up with Chisom and Melvin. At last, they managed to get their ball out of the bamboo coming second in the task. Elvis and Oseyi barely managed to get their ball out minutes later, but coming last in the task.

Bob asked each team to guard their balls jealously, “because there might be consequences if it gets lost, or if it’s stolen,” and promises to meet them at the Place of the Talking Drum later that night.

Vivien described it a “horrible task I’ve ever seen.” Chisom says “it was terrifying.” Elvis added that “The task today was very challenging.”
For Melvin: “The task today was another stressful and tough task. Like I keep saying, Gulder Ultimate Search does not cease to surprise me everyday. I suspected a group task and it happened like that. I also prayed to get a good partner, because the partner determines your outcome in this kind of task. So, I got Chisom, she was a strong girl, fast and smart girl. At the end of the day, it was very, very stressful, but thank God we won.”
Back at Pal-Boo Camp, they ha lunch of roasted yam and plantain with red oil as sauce.

As they set out to meet Bob at the Place of the Talking Drum, Vivien contemplates what may happen; “It could be eviction, it could be punishment; I don’t know what to expect. All the same, we are expecting anything. This is Gulder Ultimate Search, expect anything.” Indeed, Palm-Boo Camp’s philosopher, Oseyi is in her element. “Talking Drum, Talking Drum… place of merriment and laughter, place of destinies and future, I don’t know what’s going to happen; but I have gold. My ball is gold colour. Gold is a precious element. It has been known to bring luck to people, and it has also been know to bring battles and bring bad luck. So, what would be, would be. I don’t want to talk about the Place of the Talking Drum.”
Elvis also thinks his chance of getting evicted at the Place of the Talking Drum is “50/50 thing… everybody has his race to run in this game and if God says this is my time to leave, I’ll leave with dignity,” he said.

Reviewing the day’s task at the Place of the Talking Drum, Bob expressed that “it was a far cry from yesterday’s task.” He asked Uche to explain why he kept shouting on poor Vivien? They enjoy good jokes all evening even as each contestant tells Bob whom they miss most in the jungle.
Just before they got lost in the jokes, Bob delivered the bombshell to Oseyi and Elvis. “In every game, there are winners and there are losers. And we always encourage those who win to show magnanimity in victory and those who loose to hold up their heads high, knowing that tomorrow is another day. But then, this is the end of the road for both of you. You are no longer qualified to continue in the Search for the Horn of Valour. So, Elvis Abogun and Oseyiomoh Okoh, by this pronouncement, you stand evicted from the Gulder Ultimate Search VI. Make your way back to Palm-Boo Camp, pack your bags, not forgetting to cross out your portion at the Totem and go home and rejoined the ones you missed most. Go Now.”
A bewildered Uche could only utter, “Sorry o! See you guys soon!”

To the four remaining mum and flabbergasted Hunters, Bob said: “Your number is shrinking, getting smaller and smaller. As we approach the final stages of our Search for the Horn of Valour, many more, oh yes, many more will go, because only the worthy will find the Horn of Valour in the end. Who will it be? Who is the next to go?”
